Spring 2009 Commencement with Barack Obama
Arizona State University is pleased to announce that President Barack Obama will give the Commencement Address at University Commencement on Wednesday, May 13 at 7 p.m. in Sun Devil Stadium. Please note the change in time, date and location for this event.
University Commencement represents the culmination of a student’s academic achievement. It is a time of celebration and reflection for students, families, friends, faculty and staff. It brings together a diverse community to share in the joy of accomplished goals. Graduates of ASU’s Tempe, West, Polytechnic and Downtown Phoenix campuses are invited to participate in the commencement ceremony. We are encouraging any student who is eligible to graduate in May or August 2009 to apply and pay graduation fees immediately.
Tickets will be required for everyone entering Sun Devil Stadium. Graduates have until April 18 to RSVP. Visit the ticketing links on this site to find more information.
Details will also be posted online to address protocol and security procedures by April 30. Please check back here for details on entering the stadium.
We appreciate your patience as we prepare for this historic event.
Broadcast on ASUtv
In addition to the live internet broadcast on ASU Live!, there will be a television broadcast on ASUtv of the commencement ceremony. Details about the broadcasts are posted here.
If you are planning on attending the ceremony, please keep in mind the inclement weather plan.
