University Commencement for Undergraduate Students will be held Monday, May 7, 2017 at Chase Field in Downtown Pheonix.
Attending University Undergraduate Commencement May 7: Undergraduate candidates will enter Chase Field via the main gates on the west side of the ball park. Volunteers will be on hand to assist you in finding your seat. Plan to arrive no later than 7:00 pm to be seated with graduates from your college. Seating will be released to the general public at 7:15 pm. Graduates arriving late will be seated in any available open areas at an appropriate time during the ceremony.
Tickets are NOT required for University Undergraduate Commencement held in Chase Field. To view the ceremony schedule and to confirm which events require tickets please visit the Spring 2018 ceremony page. August 2018 graduates must apply and pay their graduations fees in order to have the RSVP link for graduation ceremonies placed on your My ASU page. Tickets are required for some graduation events. This information will appear in more detail on the RSVP page.
Summer 2018 Graduates: Undergraduate degree candidates who will complete degree requirements in August of 2018, are eligible to participate in May ceremonies. Candidates must apply for graduation as a summer graduate and pay your fees in order to have the RSVP link appear on your My ASU page. This will allow you to RSVP for spring ceremonies. Your name will appear with the listing of students who completed degree requirements in August 2018 in the December 2018 Commencement program.
If you are eligible for honor cords, you can pick them up at any registrar’s office on your campus. To find the registrar’s office for your campus please click here.
Summa Cum Laude = Maroon and Gold, 3.80 to 4.00 GPA
Magna Cum Laude = Gold, 3.60 to 3.79 GPA
Cum Laude = Maroon, 3.40 to 3.59 GPA
Academic recognition is granted to undergraduate candidates only. Students must complete 56 or more hours of in-resident work at ASU's Tempe, West, Polytechnic and Downtown Phoenix campuses in addition to having the appropriate grade point average. These students will be awarded honor cords to be worn during the commencement ceremony. Your current GPA as verified at the time you request your honor cords will determine which cords you are given. Your diploma and transcripts will reflect the appropriate recognition based on all course work completed at ASU, including courses completed in your final semester.
Commencement and Convocation
All college convocations, all special interest convocation events and both University Commencement events require an RSVP for participation. Please contact the dean's office of your college to ask about the RSVP policy for your college convocation event.
