Academic recognition is granted to undergraduate candidates only. Students must complete 56 or more hours of in-resident work at ASU's Tempe, Polytechnic and Downtown Phoenix campuses in addition to having the appropriate grade point average. ASU West campus undergraduate candidates enrolled prior to the 2007/2008 catalog must complete 50 hours or more of resident credit. For questions about the grading system, please see the Academic Senate and Assembly's Plus/Minus Grades Overview (PDF).

These students will be awarded honor cords to be worn during the commencement ceremony. Your GPA at the end of the previous semester determines your eligibility for honor cords. Your diploma will reflect the appropriate honors for all course work completed at ASU including the semester you graduate.

If you are eligible for honor cords, you can pick them up at any registrar’s office on your campus. To find the registrar’s office for your campus please click here.
