Due to the continued spread of the COVID-19 virus and the public health recommendations that come with it, Arizona State University will be celebrating with its graduates in the 2020 Spring commencement in a virtual, online ceremony. The format may be different, but our enthusiasm for celebration has never been more inspired and we encourage you to join us in honoring ASU graduate and undergraduate students the week of May 11. University Commencement for Graduate Students will be combined with undergraduate students and held during the week of May 11, 2020. See the full details and schedule.
May 2020: In order to RSVP for the ceremony, you must have paid your graduation fee which will then give you the link in your My ASU page. Submit your RSVP through your MyASU by clicking on the link under the Graduation Tab to indicate your participation at University Graduate Commencement. PhD students must also submit the name of their mentor or hooder (the faculty member attending with you). For Doctoral students, the link will appear after you have been advanced to Candidacy by the Graduate Education Office, applied for graduation and paid your fees. RSVPs will be accepted through Monday, April 27, 2020.
Please be aware that Doctoral candidates must complete all degree requirements in order to participate in the commencement ceremony as outlined on the Graduate Education Office Deadlines. Visit the Graduate College's Graduation Deadlines webpage for information about the deadlines and procedures for graduation.
Students must apply and pay their graduation fees by the deadline in order to have the RSVP link for graduation ceremonies placed on your My ASU page. The link will appear under the Graduation Tab on your My ASU page.
Commencement and College Convocation times and locations are subject to change. Please confirm details of your convocation with the college dean’s office.
University Commencement and convocation ceremonies are special events for all involved. Please show respect for everyone who has come to share in the experience. Individuals who engage in inappropriate or disruptive behavior may be removed from the event.
As a courtesy to those around you and to our graduating students, please turn off cellular phones and other electronic equipment during the ceremony.

All college convocations, all special interest convocation events and University Commencement events require an RSVP for participation. Please contact the dean's office of your college to ask about the RSVP policy for your college convocation event.
